ASUS V8170DDR Review

Manufacturer: AsusTek | Price: £104.57, inc VAT (dabs.com)

Fusion Hardware reviews the Geforce 4 MX440 from AsusTek, the Taiwanese company respected for making high quality, reliable components for consumers across the globe.

In this review we try Asus’s V8170 series of graphics card products which contains NVIDIA’s new Geforce 4 budget range chipset. We put the card under the test to find out exactly how much performance you get for your money.

About AsusTek
In it’s time Asus have been known for developing high-end reliable components for World Wide consumers. Some of its products include Motherboards, Graphics Cards, Desktop PC’s and storage devices. They are renowned for their expertise in the computer manufacturing world including industry breakthroughs and recognition for its products over the years with 3517 man years of PC design experience.

Its graphics card range has particularly exceeded, while prices of some products may be slightly higher than from other company’s you know with Asus that for the extra price you are getting the kind of reliability and performance you expect! But how does it stand for its latest range of Geforce 4 budget products? We take a closer look…

What’s in the Box?
We didn’t get a chance to try out the full retail version of this product just the OEM version so we headed on over to ASUS’s product page to find out what exactly you get for your cash. The ASUS V8170DDR comes with ASUS DVD 2000 S/W player and 3D bundled games (AQUANOX, Midnight GT and Games Showcase). You also get OpenGL 1.3, DirectX 8.0 and NVIDIA reference drivers on the installation CD. As expected with a budget range card it doesn’t come with many added features apart from a video out port (TV-out Connector supplied) which is good for putting your games on a bigger screen.
