1.   About Fusion Pack

 

This version: Games Fusion's highly acclaimed Counter-Strike replacement pack returns with another visually stunning addition to the Fusion Pack series, Fusion Pack SE. Fusion Pack SE is the second version from Games Fusion to be released, which fully supports the Steam system. This latest pack from Games Fusion introduces an exciting array of new features, including an entirely new CT team, new weapon models, new sounds and additional support for Counter-Strike 1.6. Whilst adding to the immersive feel that the Fusion Pack consistently introduces into Counter-Strike the Special Edition manages to add a fresh and exciting new look into this aged engine shooter. Overview: The Fusion Pack is the most downloaded and widely used replacement pack for Counter-Strike there has ever been. Its popularity and high recommendations make it the clear choice for users wanting to change their Counter-Strike experience. Fusion Pack will replace almost every aspect of the Counter-Strike game including weapon models, player models, sounds, sprites, 2D graphics and more! Additionally the Fusion Pack will include optional enhancements such as new single player and multiplayer maps with PODBot support. The full release includes over 126Megs worth of quality content for Counter-Strike.

3. How to install


To install simply double click on the .exe file and follow the installation instructions. You will need to install the files into your x:\sierra\half-life directory (x being the destination drive letter of where your copy of Half-Life/Counter-Strike is installed). Please note that the proceedure for installing Fusion Pack on to Steam is different. Please refer to the readme that came with the installer for detailed instructions.

4. Support Information

Use the following Questions and Answers to resolve your issue. If your problem is not listed in this article simply post a message in our tech support forums.

Q. Why am I getting a hl.exe crash during gameplay?

A. This problem is often associated with video and sound card conflicts. It may also be caused by Steam and custom replacements. If you get this error please do a fresh install of Steam and Half-Life. Make sure to completely uninstall both programs before you do this! You may also want to check for driver updates for your sound and video card.

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I try to connect to a game it keeps failing.

A. In some instances this can occur due to certain software running in the background. If you have any software such as punkbuster or anti virus software shut it down before you try entering the game. It has been reported that doing this will fix the problem. If that doesn't work try modifying your install to install Fusion Pack without custom sprites. Some users have reported that this will correct the problem. Additional knowledge of this problem tells us that some servers which run excessive anti-cheat technology can virtually prohibit the use of Fusion Pack all together so try another server or play on ours!

Q. Why does it ask me for a password when I go to install Fusion Pack?

A. During installation you will be asked for a password. This password is required to install the pack onto your system.The password has been included to ensure that only registeredusers are able to gain access to the program's content.

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I go into the game all the models are still the defaults.

A. Make sure you installed the pack into the right directory the install program points to steam_location\Steam\SteamApps\your_email_address\Counter-Strike by default. You will need to change "Steam_location" with the path to your Steam installation and "your_email_address" with the Email address you signed up to Steam with. The files automatically install to the cstrike folder with all the sub directory’s so you will only need to point to steam_location\Steam\SteamApps\your_email_address\Counter-Strike. Fusion Pack for Counter-Strike 1.6 will not work with older versions of Counter-Strike!

Q. The sound does not work why is this?

A. Fully shut down Half-Life/Counter-Strike, check your sound settings and then re-enter the game.

Q. I have downloaded the installer but it won't load.

A. If you get a corrupt message check the file size to the stated file size on the Games Fusion site. If the file size is smaller you will need to download the pack again, make sure you choose a different mirror to download the pack. Don't forget to use a download resume program for example GetRight (http://www.getright.com).

Q. InstallShield Error "MSI Pack Not Found".

A. This error is known to occur when trying to modify or fix your Fusion Pack installation. This error can occur through a number of reasons but the main reason being when the user manually alters his cstrike folder. A quick solution to this problem is still uninstall Fusion Pack using the install wizard and then to do a full reinstall of the pack.

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I go to run the game it comes up with an error saying "server is enforcing file consistency for P_ or W_ model".

A. This is unlikely to happen since we have tested all our models individually in game. If you do get this message make sure you have any custom models of your own installed. You can correct this problem by doing a fresh install of your copy of Counter-Strike and reinstalling the pack.

Q. Why does Counter-Strike now run so slowly after installing the pack?

A. Our Fusion Pack very high quality models and sounds; you will need a fast system to run it We suggest at least a P4 1.5Gig, 128Megs of RAM, 32MB graphics card and a decent sound card with hardware acceleration. If it still runs slow remember to close all programs before entering the game. This will help to free up RAM and other system resources. Q. Why does it take me longer to connect to a game?

A. Because our Fusion Pack contains very high detailed models it may take your system a little bit longer to load. If you get a connection failed message try connecting to another server.

Q. I don’t like some of the models in the pack how do I replace them?

A. Games Fusion holds the best replacements on the net in its Counter-Strike replacement skins section located at http://www.games-fusion.net/csskins/, if you desire you can use these in place of our Fusion Pack models.

Q. How do I uninstall the pack?

A. The pack comes complete with an uninstall program, if you run into problems or simply want to uninstall the pack just click on the uninstall icon which should be in your add/remove programs which is located in your control panel. You should then do a full install of the current version of Counter-Strike to restore the default settings.

Q. Does the Fusion Pack change any of the Counter-Strike or Half-Life code?

A. No. Fusion Pack does not change any code what so ever. It just replaces old features with new features so you shouldn't have any other problems with the game.

Q. Why is my Steam running so slow?

A. It has been known that by performing a complete uninstall of Half-Life and Steam and then doing a fresh install of both programs will fix this problem. Steam is still a very buggy system so we simply can't list all support questions about Steam in this Readme. It is stated that any work done for the purpose of software owned by Valve or Sierra may be freely distributed, this includes MOD’s and other add-ons.
